Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Patient Care Tech to support nursing staff, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and ensure patient comfort and safety on the unit.

Under RN supervision you will document intake and output, maintain clean rooms, and communicate patient needs clearly to the care team while providing compassionate, reliable assistance. This role requires strong multitasking and critical thinking in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA/CMA/EMT certification or nursing student with one semester of clinical.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Monitor vital signs and daily glucose measurements; record intake and output.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Communicate changes to nursing staff and prioritize unit workflow.
