Job summary

The START Center for Cancer Research in Richmond, VA is seeking a Director of Nursing & Study Operations to lead nursing teams and clinical research operations. The role ensures compliant, efficient, and high-quality care and study conduct across departments, while supporting growth and patient care.

The position oversees CTMS, EHR, and other systems, drives referral intake, scheduling, data capture, and audits, and partners with Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Site Development to advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or health-related field is required.
• RN license in good standing with state.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in oncology clinical research.
• CITI GCP training completed.
• Strong working knowledge of federal clinical research regulations and GDPR.
• Familiar with EHR/CTMS systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership to Clinical Research Coordinators and related teams.
• Oversee referral intake, scheduling, patient navigation, and study startup.
• Supervise CTMS, EHR implementation and data capture processes.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness across departments.
• Collaborate with quality, regulatory, finance and site development teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in workflows and patient care delivery.
