Job summary

Kaweah Health seeks a dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide holistic care under RN supervision in the 6173 M/S Oncology-3S unit. You will support daily patient care, respond to calls promptly, and assist with ADLs while upholding safety, confidentiality, and quality standards.

The role requires current CA CNA certification, HeartSaver AED, and completing Kaweah Health crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• HeartSaver AED certification.
• Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Reports any variance in the patient's condition to licensed staff.
• Refers complaints and problems to licensed staff or department manager immediately.
• Answers patient call lights within two minutes as assigned.
• Greets patient and family members in a friendly, professional manner and identifies self and job category.
• Is an active participant in achieving quality patient care.
• Maintains confidentiality with all patient care issues.
• Performs tasks safely and keeps required certifications current.
• Assists the Nursing staff in performing tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
• Provides for the toilet needs of patients and reports changes in output to the RN.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Orient patients to room and assist with daily living activities.
• Collects and records intake/output, weight, height, vital signs, and respiratory rate.
• Collects, labels, and delivers specimens.
• Supports post-mortem care and body transport to morgue.
• Assists with emergency care by participating in crash cart checks and CPR.
• Maintains patient property with care.
