Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Oncology Unit on a 12-hour night shift (7 PM–7 AM). The role supports nursing with chemotherapy and hospice patients, assists with ADLs, monitors vital signs, and participates in direct patient care on an inpatient 36-bed unit.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent with CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent training, BLS within 90 days, and 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with an approved certification (CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or similar).
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility under RN supervision.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG testing and specimen collection.
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the nursing staff.
• Support chemotherapy and hospice patients as part of oncology care team.
