Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Medical/Surgical Oncology on the full-time night shift (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) in Charlottesville, VA. The role supports patient care, vital signs, mobility, and routine procedures under RN supervision.

Required HS diploma or GED with BLS within 90 days; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent certification options available. Prior healthcare experience preferred. Excellent benefits and shift differential opportunities.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent GED (Required).
• Certification/Licensure options include CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, EMT/paramedic, or current clinical student in RN/LPN/RT/PT.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support daily living activities.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs and specimen collection.
• Assist with IV removal and catheter care.
• Report changes to RN or medical staff promptly.
• Comply with safety practices and family-centered care.
