Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our clinical lab team in Nashville, TN. This role handles processing of patient specimens, performs diagnostic testing, and ensures quality control under physician orders.

The MLS will operate independently as needed, maintain instrument maintenance, document results, and support training of MLTs and students while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or life sciences required; certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory training/experience in a clinical setting.
• Current MLS/MT certification or obtaining within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform, validate, interpret and report laboratory test results.
• Quality control and assurance testing.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for uninterrupted testing.
• Assist in training and mentoring MLTs, new associates and students.
• Document and report regulatory statistics/reports.
