Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to process patient specimens and perform routine diagnostic testing in a clinical lab setting. The MLS will work independently, ensure proper QC, maintain equipment, and assist in reporting results for physician orders.

Responsibilities include quality control, instrument maintenance, and supporting data collection for regulatory reporting. This role may involve mentoring junior staff and coordinating with the clinical lab team to

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related life sciences field.
• Certification as MLS/MT by ASCP, AMA, ABB, or obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Two years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform, validate, interpret and report laboratory test results.
• May collect and process specimens as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Execute quality control and quality assurance procedures.
