Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our community-based cancer care team in Nashville. The role involves collecting patient specimens, following strict safety and CLIA guidelines, and assisting physicians with procedures as needed.

Responsibilities include performing tests on automated analyzers, maintaining QC documentation, and ensuring accurate record-keeping and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Current State of Tennessee MLT/Technologist license required.
• Hematology experience with 1+ year preferred.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or closely related field required.
• Outpatient facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens for laboratory testing.
• Follow guidelines for safe handling of blood, fluids, and chemicals.
• Record laboratory testing, quality control, and assurance accurately.
• Assist physicians with procedures and exams as requested.
• Maintain inventory of reagents and supplies.
• Ensure CLIA compliance and proper documentation of QC results.
• Operate automated equipment and run tests within procedure manuals.
• Maintain proper records of testing and results.
• Understand LIS including ordering and result review.
