Job summary

Tennessee Oncology in Nashville is seeking a Laboratory/Clinical Research Assistant to support the collection, processing, storage, and shipment of biological specimens across our clinics. You will work with researchers and clinicians to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance, travel to satellite sites when needed, and maintain meticulous records and equipment in a fast-paced research environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and valid driver's license.
  • Certification as Laboratory Technician, Phlebotomist, or Medical Assistant per state requirements.
  • 2+ years' clinic, medical, or laboratory experience.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred; oncology/clinical research experience preferred.
  • Clinical research knowledge and ability to handle specimens.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and process human biological specimens for clinical studies.
  • Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing per protocols.
  • Assist investigators during dissections or surgeries as needed.
  • Manage specimen labeling, storage, and shipping per protocol.
  • Document study data and maintain confidential records.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and safety in the lab.
  • Coordinate travel to collection sites and track shipments.
  • Support administrative tasks and data entry.
