Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Coding or Certified Professional Coding certification required.
• At least 1 year of medical coding experience.
• Oncology coding experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Excellent typing and 10-key speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Input appropriate diagnostic codes for various medical services.
• Ensure codes meet federal, legal, and insurance regulations.
• Assist in monthly evaluations and management audits.
• Translate physician diagnoses and treatment plans into codes using approved classification systems.
• Prepare and review patient statements.
• Read and analyze the medical record to determine patient condition and treatment.
• Review codes to ensure all services are covered.
• Other duties as assigned.
