Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Coding or a certification in Certified Professional Coding.
• At least 1 year of medical coding experience.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Excellent typing and 10-key speed.
• Familiarity with ICD-9 codes and procedures.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Input diagnostic codes for medical services.
• Ensure codes meet federal, legal, and insurance regulations.
• Assist in monthly evaluations and management audits.
• Translate physician diagnoses into codes using approved classifications.
• Prepare and review patient statements.
• Review medical records to determine condition and treatment.
• Review code coverage to ensure all services are coded.
• Other duties as assigned.
