Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a Medical Assistant Supervisor to coordinate and directly supervise Medical Assistants and Nursing Assistants. You will support day-to-day clinic operations to ensure safe, quality patient care, with hours 9:00am–5:30pm in the South Lake Union General Oncology Unit.

The role requires WA MA certification, BLS, EMR experience, and leadership experience. The center offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Education enabling attainment of Medical Assistant Certification in WA.
• Current WA Medical Assistant certification and knowledge of WA practice standards.
• Current WA Surgical Technologist Registration within 30 days of hire if applicable.
• Current BLS/CPR certification renewed every two years.
• Minimum 2 years as Medical Assistant, preferably in ambulatory oncology.
• 1 year in lead or similar role of progressive responsibility.
• Experience with EMR and fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate clearly.

Responsabilités

• Hires, orients, supervises, trains, and conducts competency assessments for staff.
• Evaluates performance and recommends promotions, pay changes, or disciplinary actions.
• Manages scheduling, time-off requests, and timecards for team.
• Coordinates communications with providers and nursing staff on patient flow and room assignments.
• Acts as a role model and represents staff in clinic planning and budgeting.
• Intervenes in patient crises, problem-solves and conducts de-escalation.
• Designs and conducts internal quality assurance audits and improvements.
• Holds staff accountable for performance and sets standards.
• May provide routine care or cover other supervisors as needed.
