Job summary

American Oncology Network in Corpus Christi seeks an MA to assist physicians with procedures and phlebotomy in a busy office. You will perform blood draws, run tests, maintain quality control, and prepare slides for evaluation within the EMR system.

Responsibilities include handling specimen logistics, documenting results, and enabling smooth patient care. Travel to AON locations may be required; BLS and a valid license are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Certifications: BLS required; valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Experience: One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician’s office with venipuncture.
• Core capabilities: Critical thinking, problem solving, planning, time management, organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with medical procedures and phlebotomy.
• Perform laboratory blood work and specimen handling.
• Maintain QA/QC procedures and logs.
• Prepare slides for evaluation and send outside labs as needed.
• Document results and charges in EMR; maintain patient charts.
• Obtain vital signs and document in EMR.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety; travel to multiple locations (<25%).
