Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and accredited Medical Assistant program completion
• CPR certification
• Five years of experience as a medical or nursing assistant in hospital/clinic
• Phlebotomy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and provider offices
• Record patient data including vital signs and allergies
• Obtain necessary patient records and verify consent
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms
• Assist providers with exams and procedures
• Support patient education and information delivery
• Administer injections under supervision
• Document all elements of care and communicate with provider
• Maintain room disinfection and supply management
• Coordinate tests, procedures and follow-up appointments
• Assist with pre-authorizations and scheduling changes
• Handle admin duties as needed
• Maintain indigent drug and sample drug programs
• Pursue ongoing oncology nursing education and professional development
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned
