Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Glenview, IL is seeking a Part Time Medical Assistant (30 hours/week) to support oncology services, including surgical oncology. Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility for an additional day.

The MA will assist physicians and nurses, help manage patient flow, prepare exam rooms, perform basic procedures, and handle related administrative tasks while protecting patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain MA certification within six months of employment.
• Eligible for CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA certification exams.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a clinical setting with confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow through the site and prepares patients for examination.
• Assists with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and other procedures as directed.
• Prepares exam rooms, disinfects and stocks equipment; maintains inventory.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and communicates professionally with patients and care team.
• Performs delegated procedures and other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Education
