Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's McHenry Hospital Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for a Full Time, 40-hour-per-week role with travel to Huntley as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

The MA will support physicians and nurses, assist with patient care activities, and handle related administrative tasks while upholding the organization’s ethics and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification eligibility: CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA or equivalent with six months to achieve certification.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow through the site; escorts patients, records vitals and visit reason.
• Assists practitioner with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations; prepare trays; collect specimens; CLIA-waived testing).
• Prepares and stocks exam rooms; disinfects and maintains equipment; monitors inventory.
• Promotes patient satisfaction and proper communication with care team by interacting professionally with patients and staff.
• Performs delegated duties safely and efficiently and supports other staff as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
