Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's McHenry Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Oncology clinic. This full-time day shift role supports physicians and nurses, ensures efficient patient flow, and handles administrative tasks with travel to Huntley as needed.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining vitals, assisting with ECGs and venipuncture, maintaining supplies, and safeguarding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Certification (CMA / RMA / NCCT / NHA / NRCMA) or eligible.
• Must obtain one of listed certifications within six months of employment.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow and accurate patient identification.
• Assist with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and procedure setup.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies and maintain infection control."
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional communication with patients and care team.
• Perform duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
