Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses, and staff by improving patient flow and assisting with care activities. You will maintain clean, safe areas, protect confidentiality, and participate in team communications to ensure high-quality care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and 0–2 years of related experience, with opportunities to advance through certification in MA programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have written proof of meeting candidate eligibility for MA certification exams (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA).
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of experience in a relevant role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow by preparing exam rooms and obtaining accurate vitals.
• Assist with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations) per protocol.
• Stock and disinfect exam rooms; monitor inventory and equipment.
• Communicate with patients and care teams to support quality care.
• Perform delegated duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
