Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct, safe patient care under the supervision of providers and licensed staff. This role supports clinical workflow, performs routine nursing tasks, and ensures accurate EMR documentation and patient education as part of a coordinated cancer care team.

The position requires a high school diploma, CMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA certification, 5+ years MA experience, and a current BLS card within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Must have CMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA certification.
• At least 5 years of Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Current BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Measure patient height, weight, and vital signs; screen for pain and distress.
• Escort patient to exam room and complete rooming process.
• Verify and update medication lists and allergies in EMR.
• Review patient health history and update EMR.
• Enter data and complete screening questionnaires in EMR.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure efficient patient throughput.
• Call in prescriptions/refills per policy under supervision.
• Communicate lab results and follow provider instructions.
• Assist with telephone triage under protocol and supervision.
• Assist with procedures and act as chaperone when needed.
• Support port access, injections, and vital signs in treatment rooms.
• Assist with nursing evaluations and education as directed.
