Tennessee Oncology, a leading community-based cancer care provider, seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver direct, safe patient care under MD/NP guidance. You will assist with exam prep, vitals, medication checks, and documentation in the EMR, while supporting nurses and providers in a fast-paced clinic.

You will help with rooming, triage, and occasional procedures, ensuring smooth patient flow and adherence to TO policies, with a focus on compassionate patient service and teamwork.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant Training Program or 6-months recent Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA).
• Current TO approved BLS provider card required within 3 months of hire.

Aufgaben

• Measures patient height, weight, and vital signs.
• Completes patient rooming and escort to exam room.
• Reviews/updates medication lists and allergies in EMR at each encounter.
• Verifies health histories and updates EMR accordingly.
• Completes screening questionnaires and enters data in EMR.
• Prepares patients for examination to optimize provider workflow.
• Manages prescriptions/refills under provider direction and TO policy.
• Calls in prescriptions/refills per policy under supervision.
• Assists with lab results communications and triage calls per protocol.
• Assists with procedures as chaperone and in treatment rooms.
• Supports port access, injections, vital signs, and room turnover.
• Performs nursing evaluations under supervision and assists with routine care.
• Prepares and administers approved medications per TO standards.
• Maintains stock and cleans clinical areas; ensures supplies are ready.
• Alerts supervisor to clinic needs and participates in committees and trainings.
