Job summary

US Oncology Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a busy oncology/hematology clinic. Under direct supervision, you will assist with exams, procedures, patient flow, and clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting data, preparing rooms, scheduling tests, and handling administrative duties. Certification in Medical Assisting preferred; BCLS required; three years of MA/NA experience encouraged.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred; BCLS certification required.
  • Some state regulations may require specific certifications to work as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to exam rooms and assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties.
  • Records patient data prior to physician visits including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
  • Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
  • May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.
  • Performs administrative duties (typing, filing, faxing, reception) as requested by supervisor or physician.
