Job summary

US Oncology Network is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in an oncology/hematology clinic. You will assist with exams, patient prep, and routine care tasks while maintaining efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include collecting vital signs, recording data, preparing treatment rooms, administering injections as delegated, scheduling, and handling clerical duties with a focus on quality patient service and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• 3+ years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with visits.
• Record patient data prior to physician visits (vital signs, height, weight, allergies).
• Obtain necessary patient records before treatment.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Respond to patients' calls and requests.
• Perform clerical duties (typing, filing, faxing, reception).
• Alert nurse/physician of abnormal vitals or important information.
