Job summary

Shenandoah Oncology is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team as a Float, supporting physicians and clinical staff across oncology visits. You will handle patient intake, vitals, and coordination of care in a busy outpatient setting.

This full-time, onsite role follows a 8:00 am – 4:30 pm schedule, Monday through Friday, with benefits and opportunities for professional development. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, BCLS, and formal Medical Assistant training, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and coordinate with physicians and staff.
• Record patient data before visits, including vitals, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, and chart preparation.
• Coordinate and schedule oncology patient appointments, including chemotherapy and infusion treatments, laboratory visits and follow-ups.
