Job summary

Compass Oncology in Oregon is seeking a Medical Assistant to float between our Oregon clinics, supporting a Oncology team with patient rooming, vitals, and communications for the provider. This role requires flexibility to travel among sites and a focus on efficient patient flow.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and current CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including hormones and growth factors.
• Maintains exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Processes instruments and equipment as needed.
• Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Schedules patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and tests follow-up appointments.
• Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
• Performs other administrative duties as requested by supervisor or physician.
