Shenandoah Oncology is hiring a Medical Assistant Float to support physicians and clinical staff in delivering compassionate cancer care. The role emphasizes patient intake, vital signs, and coordination of care in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining records, assisting during exams, maintaining room hygiene, and handling admin tasks while coordinating chemotherapy, infusion treatments, and follow-up visits for oncology patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred; otherwise, must obtain within 90 days.

Responsabilités

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.
• Coordinate and schedule oncology patient appointments, including chemotherapy and infusion treatments, laboratory visits, provider follow-ups, and other treatment-related services.
