Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide safe, therapeutic and efficient care to patients. Under supervision, you will assist with examinations, collect specimens, administer vaccines and medications as qualified, and help prepare patients and supplies for procedures.

You will document results, communicate follow-up instructions, and support daily operations with strong teamwork and safety practices. A valid BLS is required; MA program completion is necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree in Medical Assisting preferred or Diploma Program Medical Assisting preferred.
• 1 year medical assistant or healthcare experience required; completion of a Medical Assistant program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.
• Certified Medical Assistant upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient vital signs and reason for visit.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Collect specimens and prepare for transportation to lab.
• Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and maintain sterile equipment.
• Document and process prescription requests and refills per provider order.
