Job summary

SSM Health Dean Medical Group South Madison Campus seeks a motivated Medical Assistant to support Oncology patient care under the supervision of a nurse or provider. You will assist with exams and treatments, prepare rooms, and help document patient visits while maintaining a smooth clinic flow.

The role emphasizes in-office procedures, patient interaction, and accurate charting in a fast-paced team setting. 40-hour weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays is offered.

Qualifications

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients and transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience and Wisconsin-specific medical assistant training or certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients and transcribe orders for labs, radiology, and medications.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

Wisconsin ONLY - High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience, and graduate from medical assistant school or training program or education equivalency for certification
