Job summary

MUSC Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for its UMA Clements Ferry outpatient clinic. You will support physicians with rooming patients, taking vitals, and documenting in the EMR, while assisting with injections and minor procedures.

The role includes triaging calls, educating patients, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Requirements include graduation from an accredited medical assisting program and HS diploma; CMA/CCMA certification and BLS are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certified through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA or as CCMA/CMA/NAHP/NCCT.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vitals and health history, document in EMR.
• Assist with injections and minor procedures as directed by provider.
• Maintain exam room supplies and equipment per safety standards.
• Coordinate scheduling and referrals based on urgency and availability.
• Triage calls and communicate plan of care to patients.
• Distribute medications and monitor responses as ordered by physician.
