Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Regular/Employee Medical Assistant for the Internal Medicine department at the South Madison Campus. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, taking vitals, assisting with treatments, and handling basic clerical tasks to maintain smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Wisconsin-specific medical assistant certification or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS HCP certification is preferred or required per listed licenses.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider under supervision.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records data.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
• Perform basic clerical duties: call handling, scheduling, filing.
• Transmit orders and assist with lab tests, radiology, and medications.

Education

High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

Wisconsin medical assistant certification or equivalent

BLS HealthCare Provider (HCP) certification
