Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a Lab Supervisor to lead and oversee a mid-to-high complexity laboratory at the Dallas Sammons Cancer Center. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with no weekends or major holidays, reporting to Laboratory Management.

The ideal candidate holds an ASCP certification, an Associates degree (Bachelor's preferred) and at least five years of laboratory testing experience, with prior supervision experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Technology or related science; BA preferred.
• Minimum five years laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• Current state licensure if required.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as working general supervisor for the laboratory.
• Supervises laboratory personnel and staffing; hires and trains.
• Establishes and monitors quality assurance, quality control and proficiency testing.
• Develops and validates testing methods; writes procedures.
• Reviews patient results and ensures corrective actions are taken.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and OSHA standards.
• Oversees supplies, equipment purchases and cost analysis.
• Interfaces with nursing, clerical, and management teams.
• Maintains clean, safe laboratory environment and records.
• Travel up to 70% of workweek as required.
