Job summary

Texas Oncology in Dallas, TX seeks a Lab Assistant Sr to join our laboratory team. The role supports the Dallas location with hours 8:00a-4:30p, Monday-Friday. The Sr level requires a minimum of five years of laboratory experience and deep knowledge of CLIA guidelines and specimen processing.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, analysis, quality control, inventory management, and charting results while maintaining safety and confidentiality in a high-volume clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry-level position for Level 1; no experience required.
• Level 2 requires minimum three years of laboratory experience.
• Level Sr requires minimum five years of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
• Performs specimen analysis and quality control procedures as directed.
• Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures viability before use in testing.
• Preps patients as necessary (e.g., taking vital signs).
• Sends specimens to reference laboratories for testing not performed in-house.
• Charts patient results in a timely manner.
• Maintains a clean work environment and restocks the laboratory area as needed.
