Job summary

Texas Oncology in Webster, TX is seeking a Pharmacy/Admixture Technician to support the Webster site. Roles include compounding, admixture, and medication preparation under supervision with opportunities for levels 1, 2, or Sr based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years pharmacy experience for Level 1; 3–5 years with IV skills for Level 2; 5–7 years for Level Sr.
• IV certification preferred; CPT certificate/State Board requirement recommended.
• Oncology background preferred or extensive IV preparation experience.
• ASCP accredited program or community college-based program recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Check orders for completeness and verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered, adhering to guidelines and regulations.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary units.
• Assist with controlled substance record keeping per guidelines and regulations.
• Dispose of materials used in mixing per guidelines and law.
• Maintain temperature logs and documentation for protocol and patient drugs.
• Manage inventory with proper documentation and lot numbers.
• Provide support across the medication use continuum including labeling and basic data entry.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of admixture area and pharmacy per state rules.
