You will work with physicians, mid-level providers, and clerical staff to ensure accurate treatment schedules and minimize patient wait times. Responsibilities include validating prior authorizations, reviewing EMR for regimen details, and managing chair times.

Responsibilities

• Follows established scheduling processes and maintains scheduling system per protocol. Schedules appointments with consistent accuracy. Provides feedback to oncology infusion manager for continuous scheduling improvements. As part of scheduling, completes follow up calls, communicates pertinent scheduling information to patients, providers, & infusion staff.
• Reviews patient appointments prior to day of treatment to assure prior authorizations are on file and reports issues to appropriate person; reviews information in EMR to verify treatment regimen and the anticipated time in chemo chair against the scheduled time and makes adjustments if necessary.
• Answers telephones, screen and prioritize calls. Assists nurses and Resource Coordinator with communication across the oncology service line. Obtains any and all needed documentation.
• Scanning all necessary documents into patients EMR chart. Processes incoming and outgoing documents via EMR, fax or phone to other medical practices, hospital, Adult Day Center, or case managers.
• Clerical duties cover a broad set of tasks inclusive of phone calls, copying records, typing up reports, running errands, and other clerical and support tasks as directed by management.
