Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Cancer Center Scheduling Specialist to coordinate medical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion procedures, and related appointments.

The role supports patient registration, insurance authorizations, and accurate order processing in the scheduling system. Ideal candidates will have strong customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience in scheduling within a hospital or clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Requires customer service experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to schedule multiple appointment types and coordinate patient care.
• Familiarity with pre-registration, insurance eligibility checks, and prior authorizations.
• Experience with charge entry and accurate documentation in scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule inpatient/outpatient procedures and appointments as ordered by physicians.
• Register patients in the registration system and collect demographics and insurance info.
• Perform real-time eligibility checks for insurance benefits and assist with prior authorizations.
• Scan and retrieve patient records in EMR systems and prepare physician reports.
• Handle a high volume of calls with excellent customer service.
• May cover Bend and Redmond sites as needed.
