Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler is seeking a Scheduling Supervisor to oversee all schedules and orders within the Central Scheduling Department, collaborating with the department Manager on process-flow improvements to deliver a seamless patient experience.

The role involves setting department goals, monitoring staff productivity, and ensuring training and follow-up procedures are in place. This position supports system upgrades and works with physicians and staff to optimize scheduling operations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years scheduling, patient access, registration, or pre-certification in a healthcare environment.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience in a healthcare environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of regulatory and third-party payer requirements to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversees scheduling processes within the Central Scheduling Department.
• Collaborates with managers and Physician Relations to develop strategies and improvements.
• Ensures staff are trained and developed in all aspects of operations to optimize efficiency.
• Maintains adequate staffing and open communication regarding call-ins and attendance.
• Reviews quality and quantity activity using available reporting tools and initiates coaching when needed.
• Facilitates division meetings and maintains a cooperative environment with physicians and their office staff.
• Works with IS to customize dictionaries and establish appropriate security access by job function.
