Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Cancer Institute is seeking a Scheduler to optimize workflow for hematology, oncology and related ambulatory treatments across our Hartford facilities. You will coordinate appointments, manage calls, verify treatment orders in EMR and secure authorizations to keep care on track.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and at least two years of medical office scheduling experience, with knowledge of CPT codes and Medicare rules; you will deliver excellent patient

Qualifications

• Two years medical office experience required.
• Two years scheduling in medical office and/or diagnostic imaging preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT codes and Medicare National Coverage Determination for insurance reimbursement.
• Demonstrates commitment to service excellence in daily patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate hematology, oncology and related ambulatory treatments per department protocols.
• Confirm treatment orders in EMR and ensure accuracy for compliance/medical necessity.
• Obtain and update patient insurance information and demographics for accurate billing.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary appointments with nursing, radiology and other departments.
• Provide office support, triage calls, arrange patient transport and referrals as needed.
