Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Nursing professional for the Hematology and Oncology unit in Winter Park, FL. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm, in a supportive, compassionate team focused on whole-person care.

The successful candidate will provide patient education, assist with treatment coordination, and ensure accurate documentation for chemotherapy, admissions, and follow-up care in a high-volume oncology setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license is required.
• Minimum 1+ oncology inpatient, ICU or PCU experience.
• 1+ oncology experience required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive resources and education to patients and families regarding treatment and side effects.
• Teach patients and families about treatment expectations and procedures.
• Complete essential patient forms (FMLA, disability, medical necessity letters).
• Assist benefits team in obtaining authorizations for chemotherapy and infusion-related treatments.
• Coordinate communication via voicemails, emails, texts, and Teams messages.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for oncologic patients.
• Triage and treat cancer-related issues and monitor chemotherapy administrations.
• Input chemotherapy orders and coordinate infusion center appointments.
