Job summary

Navista, a Cardinal Health oncology practice alliance, seeks a Coordinator, Financial Counseling to support patients and providers with financial clearance and education before services. You will identify financial risk, minimize denials, and collaborate across clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate revenue cycle processes.

The role requires experience in healthcare revenue cycle, knowledge of insurance and oncology billing, and a patient-centric approach with strong communication

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a healthcare business office or revenue cycle role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of insurance and benefits and patient Financial Assistance Programs.
• Strong understanding of oncology treatment pathways.
• Familiarity with high-cost oncology drugs, infusion services and specialty pharmacy billing preferred.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, managed care concepts and fee structures.
• Background in financial counseling or patient-facing financial roles.

Responsibilities

• Review daily schedules to identify patients requiring financial clearance.
• Educate patients on expected financial responsibility, including deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximums.
• Provide clear communication regarding treatment costs and payment expectations prior to services.
• Assist patients in understanding their financial obligations prior to services.
• Evaluate potential financial risks associated with scheduled services.
• Escalate high-risk accounts to leadership for review.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to reduce the risk of claim denials.
• Maintain accurate documentation of financial discussions with patients.
