Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive financial evaluations for oncology patients referred by care team members.
• Assess insurance coverage, financial hardship, and barriers to treatment adherence.
• Educate patients on insurance benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Provide individualized financial counseling to aid informed treatment decisions.
• Review and explain medical bills, EOBs, and payment options.
• Coordinate access to financial assistance programs and charity resources.
• Collaborate with insurance workflows to prevent treatment delays.
• Document interactions and outcomes in the EMR.
• Support denial management and revenue recovery efforts.
• Engage with care teams to address patient financial concerns and advocate for resources.
