Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an organized fashion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exam and treatment by taking vital signs and recording chief complaints.
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinate care with pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Provide clerical support and maintain medical records for billing and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment and sterilize equipment.
• Order supplies and manage medications and recalls as directed.
• Communicate with patients, families, and external providers to support care.
