Oncology Data Specialist II maintains an efficient cancer database of all patients diagnosed and/or treated with cancer in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements for Sentara Cancer Network. The role involves consistently meeting productivity goals for abstracting, assisting with maintaining annual follow-up of patients accessed in the database, and performing data retrieval to support cancer research, patient care improvement studies, and quality assurance for physicians and the Cancer Program. Certification by the National Cancer Registrars Association is required at the time of hire.
