Job summary

Texas Oncology in Plano West is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30am to 5pm, with no weekends or major holidays. The position can be level 1, 2, or Sr depending on experience, and will support clinical operations in a fast-paced oncology clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Accredited Medical Assistant program certification preferred.
• 0–3 years experience for entry level CMA roles.
• BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and supports patient flow.
• Records patient data prior to visits, including vitals, height, weight, allergies and meds changes.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Maintains exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answers patient phone calls for referrals; handles prescriptions and messages.
• May enter orders under a provider’s direction.
• Performs additional clerical duties as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Current BCLS certification within 3 months of hire

Certified Medical Assistant preferred
