Job summary

Texas Oncology in Bedford, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Gynecological Oncology team. This full-time position supports the Bedford location with occasional coverage for Grapevine and Keller locations. Work hours are 8:30am-5pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or major holidays.

The role may be level 1, 2 or Sr depending on experience. Responsibilities include patient care, vitals, injections, and clerical tasks to support efficient patient flow and treatment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Entry level position 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Level 2 requires minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Level Sr requires minimum five years experience and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Record patient data prior to physician visits, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records as required by physician.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Maintain disinfection protocols in exam/treatment rooms.
• Answer patient calls for referrals to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Enter orders under provider direction and supervision.
