Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's Pharmacy Division seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to provide advanced, patient-centered pharmaceutical care on the inpatient Hospital Medicine team. The role requires active participation in rounds and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize therapy.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree required.
• TX pharmacist license within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty preferred (BPS).
• Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY1) and PGY2 experience preferred or substitutable.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains an active clinical pharmacy practice on the assigned service; participates in inpatient rounds and clinic coverage, including on-call and weekend coverage.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to optimize pharmacotherapeutic aspects of patient care.
• Manages daily patient medication problems and documents interventions in the EHR.
• Delivers education to patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff; provides timely medication information.
• Participates in discharge planning and formulary management; supports research and quality improvement.
