Job summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist focusing on Malignant Hematology. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize cancer pharmacotherapy, including CAR T and bispecific therapies, with on-call and weekend coverage as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a PharmD with PGY1 and PGY2 residencies, active Texas pharmacist license, and competency in patient education and pharmacotherapy optimization.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree.
• Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY 1) and Residency in the area of specialization (PGY 2).
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license within 90 days of job entry.
• BLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of job entry.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains an active clinical pharmacy practice on the assigned service, including inpatient rounds and outpatient coverage.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to optimize pharmacotherapy and patient care.
• Manages daily patient medication problems and emergencies, documenting actions in the EHR.
• Provides drug information and pharmacotherapeutic plans for individual patients.
• Precepts residents/students and participates in trainee learning activities.
