Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health's Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology Unit – MCC-10 at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 31-bed unit that specializes in transplant and cellular therapies. You will assess patients, administer medications, support physicians, educate families, document in EPIC, and participate in rounds to ensure safe, coordinated transitions of care.
NJ RN license with BLS and 1 year acute care experience is required; Oncology/BMTU certification and ACLS are
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of acute care RN experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire.
- Oncology or BMTU Certification is highly preferred and ACLS preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes to intervene early.
- Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care grounded in clinical judgment.
- Serve as a clinical partner to physicians, offering insights for timely, coordinated care decisions.
- Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately for next care steps.
- Ensure accurate documentation within the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to drive seamless communication and transitions.
- Work in a collaborative team environment with emphasis on shared accountability and growth.
