RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a per diem RN for the Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology Unit MCC-10 at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick. The role emphasizes patient-centered care in a 31-bed unit with CAR-T, BMT, and cell therapies, across day shifts in New Jersey.

The ideal candidate holds an active NJ RN license with BLS, with 1+ year acute care experience. BSN preferred; NB Certification, ACLS, and Oncology/BMTU certs favored. EMR experience (EPIC) is essential for charting and coordination.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification with at least 1 year of acute care RN experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years of hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS Certification preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Oncology or BMTU Certification highly preferred.
• Comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early and advocating for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight for timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed and supported.

As a Registered Nurse within the Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology Unit - MCC 10 at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick, you will help advance patient care and strengthen the experience of individuals and families across our organization. This is a 31 Bed Oncology Unit. All 31 beds are private rooms. In this unit, you will see a variety of oncology transplant and intermediate care patient population. Transplant and Cellular Therapy is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on treating blood cancers and other illnesses using stem cell transplantation and innovative cellular therapies. This includes Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR T-cell) therapy, blood and marrow transplants (BMT), gene therapy, and more.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes
