Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Day Shift RN for the Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology Unit – MCC 10 at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick. The unit features 31 private beds and focuses on transplant and cellular therapy for hematologic cancers.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, manage complex oncology care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification with at least 1 year of acute care RN experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS Certification are preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Oncology or BMTU Certification is highly preferred and comfort with EMR systems (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers for timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in EMR to promote continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to support communication and transitions of care.
• Collaborate within a highly team-oriented environment to impact outcomes.
• Pursue continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities for career growth.
