Job summary

Oncology Hematology Associates is seeking a skilled APRN/PA to support physicians in patient care and teaching. The role involves assessing patients, prescribing medications and blood products, and coordinating trials while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The candidate should have an APRN or PA license, a master's degree, and at least five years in oncology to drive multidisciplinary rounds and care planning. This is a full-time, on-site position with some travel to multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program.
• Master's degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state with prescriptive privileges.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.
• Write prescriptions for medication, blood products, and follow-up studies.
• Determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials.
• Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests.
• Relay information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
• Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens as prescribed.
• Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response and plan.
• Dictate or write patient histories, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes timely.
