Job summary

The Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Community Oncology Program in Dallas.

The APP will deliver outpatient oncology and hematology care in a multidisciplinary setting, supporting community oncologists with follow-up visits, symptom management, care coordination, and patient education. Based primarily in Dallas, the role may require coverage at other Community Oncology locations; candidates should have

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of oncology and/or hematology experience.
  • PA or NP licensure in Texas with prescriptive authority.
  • ACLS certification as per UT Southwestern policy.
  • Board certification through NCCPA or RN/BSN/APN credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis.
  • Develops and evaluates patient plans of care with labs and imaging review.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills as appropriate.
  • Provides management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients and families.
  • Collaborates on quality initiatives and clinical research protocols.
  • Participates in research projects and applies best practices to patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
